Peruvian Kitchen & Pisco House

Sunset over the Sacred Valley near Cusco, Peru, featuring the ornate facade of a historic church on the right, colorful mountains on the left, and a dramatic sky with large clouds.
Line of colorful icons representing a flower, dress, purse, cake, toy dinosaur, fish, pig, hamster wheel, bird, and decorative flowers.

INKA Peruvian Kitchen & Pisco House brings the coast, the Andes, and the Amazon of Peru to the heart of downtown New Orleans.

In Lima, the sea is the Pacific. In New Orleans, it’s the Gulf. We cook redfish, blue crab and Gulf shrimp in recipes Lima has made for centuries, with the same technique, the same acid and the same ají.

Peru’s coast, Andes and Amazon all meet in Lima’s kitchen, along with the cooks who arrived and never left. Spain brought the lime. Africa brought the embers of the anticucho. Canton brought the wok, and Japan the fine cut of the tiradito. Each left a technique, not a menu. That’s mestizaje, not fusion.

This is Peru's story. And on Poydras Street — in a city that wrote its own version of the exact same story — it feels less like an introduction and more like a homecoming.

THE SPACE

La carta · La barra

Peru on the plate.
Peru in the glass.

The kitchen tells Peru on the plate, and the bar keeps telling it in the glass. Start with a ceviche, add something from the charcoal and the wok, and a pisco to carry it all.

Graphic design promoting Costa, Sierra, and Selva regions, featuring a stylized mountain illustration and a colorful tiered border.
A stylized line drawing of a lama with geometric patterns on a background of vertical colorful stripes in teal, pink, orange, and yellow.
A stylized green geometric flower or star-shaped design composed of four diamond-shaped elements with smaller diamond cutouts in the center of each one, arranged symmetrically.
